Fundraising online

We have a fund raising page on Active.com that allows contributors to donate using a credit card, you can see the page: http://www.active.com/donate/swim4health

You can create your own page by clicking on "Become a Fundraiser" at the top of the page and creating an account. This is an easy and efficient way to collect donations from your friends and family.

Volunteers needed!

Volunteers are needed to count laps and time the individual events. To sign up for a volunteer position, see the descriptions and choose the link to register:
  • Relay Lap Counter (8 needed): count laps on provided score sheet during 1/2 hour relay swim 10:45 am - 12:15 pm register
  • Timers (8 needed): time individual challenges with stop watch and record time on provided score sheet 12:15 pm - 1:15 pm register
  • Scoring (2 needed): compile results of relay swim and individual challenges 11:00 am - 1:15 pm register

Event Details

Swimmers will form teams of 4, 6, or 8 swimmers and race as far as they can in 1/2 hour. Swimmers can also sign up for individual swim challenges: 100 fly, back, breast, free, and IM to compete as the fastest swimmer. Prizes will be given to fastest swimmers and top fund raisers. Registration entries are due 3/2/09. The registration form is available online.

Registration

Registration is now open for the Swim for Health event on 3/7/09! You can download the registration form and return by either email or mail. The registration deadline is 3/2/09. More information on how to raise funds will be posted here soon.

The Bill and Judy Winkler Fund for Positive Lifestyle and Healthy Aging

The fund will provide support for the practical application of research that centers on optimization, quality and longevity of life. Particular emphasis will be given to funding opportunities that focus on the major contributors to health across the lifespan, with critical focus on the reduction of disability in later life, obesity, strokes, diabetes, metabolic syndrome and heart problems as examples.
